Golden Gate Toastmasters
When you're in the spotlight, do you freeze up or start rambling, never quite finding the right words? Or maybe you're already a confident speaker, but you want to go from good to great.
If so, you're in the right place.
Since 1936, Golden Gate Toastmasters has helped generations of speakers find their voice. As San Francisco's oldest continuously operating Toastmasters club, we've spent 90 years doing one thing really well: creating a supportive space where people practice, grow, and build lasting confidence.
Every week, our members get hands-on speaking opportunities, constructive feedback, and a community of people on the same journey. Many have also found genuine friendships along the way.
What to expect at your first meeting
- Arrive a few minutes early and grab any free seat.
- Guests may be invited to share during the impromptu speech section, called Table Topics, but guests can always pass.
- We usually do a second round at The Irish Bank, 10 Mark Ln, San Francisco, CA 94108 after meetings. Come chat with members and guests.
How to join
- Attend 2-3 meetings.
- Talk to some current members.
- Fill out the GGTM membership application.
Membership applications are reviewed monthly. The first meeting of each month includes a members-only club business meeting in the second half, so the regular meeting is shortened from the normal two hours to one hour. Application processing happens during that monthly business meeting.
When and where we meet
We meet Wednesdays at 6 PM Pacific at the Russ Building, 235 Montgomery St, San Francisco, CA 94104, on the 7th Floor, Conference Room.
See the agenda page for any week-specific notes before you head over.
